Nascar
I race a Pure Stock car in the Future Stock Class (a class for 12-15 year–olds) at the Nascar sanctioned paved oval race track in Wetaskiwin. Edmonton International
Raceway is a quarter mile paved oval track where many different cars and classes race every Saturday during the warm, summer months.
I have spent all the summers I can remember going to the racetrack to watch my dad pit crew for his friend and my mentor! One night I told my parents I thought it would be fun to drive a race car and my parents made that a reality. In switching from competive dance to racing I found my new passion! When the car was finished we went out for practice days with my coach who helped me realize how much fun it is to drive fast and all the different aspects that go into driving a car around a track!
For the past three seasons I have developed as a racer by racing faster laptimes, passing other cars, finding fast lines, and most importanly learning how to act professional and speak publicly to crowds. In my first race in 2022 I already had some practice laps under my belt so I kept up with the field and finished our feature race in first place in my first race! Since then I have received many third place podium finishes with a few wins each season. i have begun my third season with two wins and a third so far! In the future I am excited to move into other car classes and continue to become the best racer I can be.
