Stock Car Racing

I am 15 years old, and have been racing since I was 11. I’m also a fourth generation racer in my family.

Since I was born, I’ve been at Edmonton International Raceway watching the races in the stands. My father raced in 2009, 2011 and 2012 with my uncles. Each weekend we were out watching with our family. My father took a break when my brother was born, but one of my uncles continued racing. Since I was five, it was always something I knew I wanted to do.

In 2020 my grandfather and father found a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire, bought it, and brought it home for is to start working on. We got the car ready for the 2021 season, and I started racing. That season I competed against another strong female driver for rookie of the year, but a DNF put me back in points and I placed 4th.

In 2022 I competed against a strong male rookie for track champion, leading 1st for half of the season until my powered steering gear broke mid-corner and I hit the wall at about 90 km/h. A week afterwards I was back on the track working on getting past that traumatic incident, but unfortunately I was in a loose car. I chose to take the rest of the season off to recover. In 2023 I spent the season increasing my speed and confidence.

In 2024 I was feeling confident after test in tune, but on the first night I was spun and hit on my left door. I decided to take the season off, but towards the end of the season I started practicing, which led to me racing two nights.

This season I am starting in the Nascar Pure Stocks class, which is a male dominated, 20+ driver class. I’m focused on growing comfortable with the tight, close racing and hope to be more competitive by the end of the season.
